Lambourne End Centre operates for the benefit of its local communities. We asked seven former and current service users and volunteers - why is it important that LEC can continue supporting more and more people each year? We want to be in a position to encourage our community to get outdoors, stay active and keep fit whether it be adventurous activities or falling in love with nature and receive the personal development and growth benefits that come with it. However, the Centre is limited by the availability of indoor space, resulting in some groups not having the opportunity to grow and develop. Indoor spaces are important to many groups that visit us: As a place to provide some indoor contextual knowledge before practical outdoor learning. - Somewhere to leave belongings for the day. - Facilities for campers. Alderton Junior School kindly donated a three part modular building to us in early 2022. After receiving the building, the busy period engulfed us, further demonstrating the importance of having more indoor space. Now, with support from Bowden Bradley estate agents, we are Crowdfunding to prepare this building for use. The purpose of the building is to support groups like Newham PRUs.
