Animal focused land-based vocational training.
Hands On is an integrated programme which incorporates farm, environmental and land-based activities. It is designed to build young people’s confidence, address challenging behaviour, develop new skills and raise aspirations.
This programme is aimed at young people who learn better through doing. It is designed to support those who struggle with the mainstream curriculum, whether through poor school attendance, poor grades, low self-esteem, special needs and/or challenging behaviour. Those who are seeking a career in land
based industries are also welcome.
Achievements are recognised through City and Guilds qualifications:
Level 1 land-based in Animal Care
Level 1 land-based qualification in Estate Maintenance
Level 2 Animal Care
The project is designed to be attended on a regular basis, up to 3 days per week, in conjunction with school, tutoring or other alternative provision.
Cost £105 / person / day (as of 1st Sept 2020)
City & Guilds one-off registration fee £200
If 1:1 care is required, support must be arranged separately. Transport from a central point can be arranged.
