Lambourne End Centre is committed to taking responsible action to help control the spread of the Covid-19 virus in accordance with the Government’s guidelines, whilst supporting those from our community who are vulnerable, at risk or marginalised.
We will therefore be remaining very partially open for a limited number of the Centre’s vulnerable and at risk beneficiaries; who attend the Centre’s targeted learning programmes as part of an alternative education provision, supported learning placement or those with disabilities who require short break activities to provide respite for carers.
The majority of staff have been placed on part-time furlough to enable the delivery of these essential programmes, but reduce expenditure whilst the Centre is not working at full capacity and income is very significantly reduced.
The Centre remains committed to complying with Government guidance. Therefore all staff, volunteers and users are being asked to complete a lateral flow test once a week, before attending the Centre. They are asked not to attend if they show any signs of Covid symptoms. The vast majority of work is completed outdoors where people are instructed to maintain social distancing. They are asked to wear masks when necessary and ensure they are washing their hands regularly, using soap or the hand sanitisers supplied. Staff are ensuring the regular cleaning of the facilities.
Unfortunately, at present we are unable to run any, school visits, out of school clubs, children’s parties, social gatherings, open days or have people staying overnight in our residential accommodation.
The staff assisted by a team of adult volunteers from the local community are continuing to care for the animals, look after the gardens and maintain our site for when we can fully reopen. If you would like to make a booking please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Our online farm shop will continue to take orders for collection on a Friday afternoon.
We sincerely hope that these actions will protect the future of the Centre and enable us to return to providing a full service to our community. We are convinced that there will be an even greater need for the work we do to help improve people’s health and wellbeing.
We will continue to monitor the situation, and respond to any changes in the Government’s guidelines and will keep everyone updated with any changes to the current situation via our website.
